Restricted architectural competition called by INCASÒL for the drafting of the executive project and subsequent construction management of 86 rental housing units on the Ronda de la Masía Nueva in Sant Pere de Ribes. Proposal.

In spite of the inconvenient orientation of the blocks, buildings were offered with maximum use of the advantages of contact with the exterior. The aim was to offer a strategy of energy efficiency by taking advantage of the great depth of the admissible gauge to maximize the perimeter of the façade to the south.

The standard floor plan organizes three dwellings around a central staircase and elevator, so that all dwellings receive at least one south-facing opening free of charge in winter. All have optimal cross-ventilation to soften the heat in summer and a separate space for spreading out clothes to avoid the need for dryers, which alone represent a major energy expense, absurd in a Mediterranean climate.

The compact layout of the dwellings pivots around a spacious terrace, through which views open up throughout the house. The living-kitchen-dining space is directly linked to the terrace, allowing all the homes in the blocks to enjoy an outdoor space.
